Lessons follow levels from the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). All levels are covered: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2 levels. Regardless of your level, get the appropriate grammar notions that you need. Your pace is mine!

Some example courses are:

  • A1 – French for beginners: My first trip in Paris and its language
  • B1 – Manage any situation in a simple but efficient way, using most common grammar tools. (required level for French Nationality).
  • B2 and greater – Le français, une arme de séduction massive. (argumentation élaborée, etc.)

Bonjour! I am American and I have been working with Valérie to learn French for 30+ lessons so far, staring when I arrived in Paris. By my choice, most have been virtual, and 2 in person (à la Musée d’Orsay). I was starting as a beginner and it was a very difficult transition for me into learning a language (not my strong suit). However, Valérie’s approach is original and custom. After we got through a few initial classes, her approach is now to have a conversation for the first half of the lesson about a topic relevant to my life (the weekend, upcoming travel, work meeting simulations). We then spend the second half of the lesson going through what was discussed, and she works with me to correct it. She then 1) turns the dialogue into a quiz and 2) records the audio – and posts both on a website customized for me. I think there is tremendous value in this approach and really appreciate the time, effort, and overall commitment she puts into her students. It’s certainly not easy but I’m sticking with it and look forward to continue to improve! I recommend Valérie as a teacher for anyone who is serious about learning French, who is willing to commit to the work it takes, and who would enjoy learning in a format that is relevant to their day-to-day life.

Great experience! Every French lesson is a pleasure and look forward to have. The style is always adapted to my needs and the focus is on improving my speaking skills. Valérie is very patient and corrects me only after I have finalised my sentences, which gives me the liberty to express my thoughts in French without being interrupted. The fact that after the lesson I can listen anytime to the mp3 recording of what was taught in the previous class, makes all the difference.Strongly recommend taking classes with Valérie!

I can only recommend Francofunny !!!I took a job in Paris and basically didn’t speak french at all.The lessons are individually adjusted to each person and start with basic scenarios of which you create your own dialogs in order to use the learned vocabulary and grammar from each chapter.Furthermore, on the website you have a log I space where you find all the basic grammar rules and additional content to work on.All in all, I had a great time and made quick progress with the lessons and therefore can only recommend it!!

Francofunny is the best French learning experience I’ve ever had to be honest. The lessons were friendly in atmosphere. Always had a great mix of conversation and grammar practice. And it was super easy to adjust what and how we learn to my personal learning goals. I’ve been taking multiple French classes before in Paris and elsewhere, but nothing came even close. Can totally recommend Francofunny if you’re looking for a good French 1:1 learning experience in Paris. And it’s good price/value combination as well by the way.

Valérie is a very professional and experienced French teacher. I’ve had my one-to-one French class with her since September 2021. She is a wonderful teacher with a great personalized approach, deep knowledge of the French language, and a unique teaching system. In addition, I have learned not only language but also French culture during the classes. Thanks to her, my French has improved significantly, and now I have the confidence to speak French at work. I have enjoyed my lessons with her, highly recommended!
